Victor Keen Collection of Outsider Art at the Bethany Mission Gallery

We will have a special tour with the Director, Molly Dougherty of the private collection of Victor Keen. There are well-over two hundred paintings, drawings and sculptures by artists like James Castle, George Widener, Bill Traylor and Thornton Dial. The collection is housed in the Bethany Mission Gallery, formerly a 1869 Quaker meeting house.

Time: 11:45 we will assemble for a 12:00 tour
Place: 1527 Brandywine Street, Phila. on street parking. Carpooling is important

Revised plan: PMA is closed to visitors on Tuesdays and a tour of the museum’s self-trained and Outsiders artists would have to be rescheduled to a time when more of those works were on display.  Lunch following the tour is optional but a lot of fun. There are three restaurants nearby which we suggest:
