It is with great sadness, we must inform our supporters that ArtWorks, The Women's Committee Art Sales and Rental Gallery at the Philadelphia Museum of Art has ceased operations after 44 years in business. The Women's Committee has concluded it necessary to close the gallery due to the challenging retail environment.

Begun in 1965, the Gallery was a complement to our highly respected annual Craft Show. The current downturn in the economy has had sweeping effects in nearly every sector. Retail has been particularly hard-hit. Unfortunately, we were not immune to the impact. Despite ArtWorks long and distinguished history as a place to acquire wonderful and affordable crafts and fine art, we can no longer afford to keep it open.

The gallery officially closed its doors on January 31, 2009. We would like to thank everyone for their loyal support through the years.
